2008 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS / GAGNANTS BOURSES 2008

DOMINIQUE TARDIF - SAINT LEONARD - 1500$
NAME: Dominick Tardif
ENROLLED: Universite de Moncton, Campus D’Edmundston (Year 1)
Dominick got to have some serious winter fun this year at the 2009 igloo building competition. Her team (UdeM campus d’Edmundston) won the Bronze medal and endured the unbelievable winter storm mother nature had in store for igloo builders in the Grand Falls region that weekend. This is a quote from her scholarship application:
“Après avoir participé au concours de construction d’igloo a Grand-Sault, mon intérêt au domaine de l’ingénierie s’est intensifié. Le fait qu’une simple structure de neige puisse résister a une charge d’au moins mille livres est émerveillant. Ce concours est une expérience de vie que je ne pourrais pas oublier.”

ERIC LEVESQUE - GRAND FALLS (-SAULT) - 1500$
NAME: Eric Levesque
ENROLLED: University of New Brunswick, Fredericton (Year 1)
Eric is in his first year of Civil Engineering at UNB in Fredericton. Eric has participated twice already at the competition, starting way back in his high school years. This year he was a member of the 2009 Gold medal winning team – FALLS CONSTRUCTION. Here is one of Eric’s quotes taken out of his igloo scholarship application: “Building that igloo sealed the deal for me to pursue an engineering career.”
We encourage all New Brunswick engineering students and those who intend to pursue an engineering career to participate at the 2010 igloo building competition. Participating in the igloo building competition will give you a very unique experience to tag with your studies.
